"Patriotism can be Purdy" calendar Guidelines:
In addition to the above general guidelines photos submitted for this category must include at least 1 American Pit Bull Terrier and 1 woman. Photos submitted are suggested to include patriotic symbolism (flags, costumes, etc) and be done in tasteful "pinup" fashion. This calendar will ideally be provocative but not lewd.

Anyone who submits a photo will receive a free calendar and Stop-BSL.com bumper sticker upon completion of the calendar. So please remember to include the mailing address on your waiver where you would like these items sent.

Lets have some fun and take some pictures to support Anti-BSL efforts! I think this can be lots of fun and look forward to seeing what you'll think up!

Update on "Campaign to Expose the HSUS"

Please cross post the following EVERYWHERE:

If you are a dog owner, fisherman, farmer, hunter or any other variety of American citizen who believes in your rights to Own animals, eat animals and raise animals the time has come for you to stand and be counted.

The Humane Society of the United States has begun working towards the same goals as PETA. This means, unless we stop them now, total Animal Liberation. In case you didn't know "animal liberation" means the complete extinction of domesticated and farm animals, outlawing hunting fishing and all other "animal use."

An organization called Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination is currently taking donations to help fund the "Expose the HSUS campaign." This group, a small anti-BSL group, has been watching how the HSUS and PETA's support of anti-dog laws has grown into an all out assault on dog owners, breeders and buyers. They are using false accusations of dog fighting to kill innocent dogs and shut down long time hobby breeders in the "pit bull breed" and allegations of abuse to shut down minature dog breeders as well.

Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination has decided to fund a radio ad campaign in order to counter self serving ads the HSUS has recently placed in areas like Tucson, Arizona. This campaign will run in targeted areas alongside an informative website section and Utube video. The radio campaign would grab the attention of listeners guiding them to the campaign's website. Once they are on the website they will see a Utube video which highlights all the nasty tidbits the HSUS doesn't mention when panhandling for their cash.

The website will have detailed information about the HSUS goal of eliminating animal husbandry of all kinds in America. It will outline many of the underhanded tactics they have used in recent months to "capture" dog breeders, kill innocent dogs and then wash their hands of the whole ordeal.

This campaign can reach thousands of American citizens and educate them on what the HSUS is really doing. We can stop this before it goes much further! But, we need your help. Blogging on the internet and running informative websites is not enough anymore. The HSUS is a multi-million dollar corporation which can and does run TV and radio ads regularly. They get free advertisement from news stations who know nothing about their real agenda and millions of pet loving Americans donate to them every year without knowing what the money is really for.

Please donate what you can to help us reach our $1000.00 goal and start the campaign! If you cannot donate, or even if you do donate, please cross post this on every message board, discussion group and myspace page you can find where people who value their Constituitional Rights still can be found.

Donate for a good cause!

Hey, everyone! I am just writing to ask you to please donate to a very worthy cause. Owners, Breeders and Dogs Against Breed Discrimination is raising money for an ad campaign which could help bring the truth about the HSUS to mainstream media. They are looking to raise $1000.00 to run radio ads which will bring curious listeners to their website.

Once at the website visitors will be able to watch a news broadcast style video about the HSUS which highlights recent unsavory activity they have tried to hide.

We dogs know that the Humane Society of the United States doesn't have our best interests in mind. But, most humans still need to be shown the truth. They are too wrapped up in the cuddly puppies and kittens the HSUS claims to "save." They are too blinded by the disgusting videos which the HSUS uses to guilt them into donating. .

That is why they need to be exposed!

If you are interested in helping expose these murdering, lying, fear mongering, fund raising misfits please visit the chip in page online and read all the updates for this movement!

Sharing the Spotlight Aint All It's Cracked Up To Be!

Not to brag or anything, but when it comes to weight pull I am quite good. I have a whole lotta ribbons I've earned in not much time. And, this season I am #1 for the 40-60 lb class in my region so far with the IWPA. Weight pull is really fun for me, everyone cheers and claps and I get to be the center of attention. It isn't very hard either, I usually just sit it out when I feel like it's getting hard. . although it makes daddy sad sometimes.

But, this year I may need to step it up a notch. I am not just going to be competing against those in my weight class, but also against my own daughter- for ribbons won!

Me, not in the mood for photos!

Atreyu started training last month and she is showing promise. No doubt a testament to her mother's good genes. But, I certainly do not want to be shown up by my 35 lb pipsqueak of a pup.

Atreyu 1 year

I fear she may have a one up on me energy wise. It's like that pup never stops. She could run circles around me all day, and she usually does.

Either way as long as we can pull I think it will be a good day. The Humaniacs are always trying to find new and creative ways to make it look like we dogs do not enjoy pulling. But, truth be told many of us hate water, hoops, tennis balls, Frisbee and all the other sporting things which we could do. And, for us weight pull is a great way to prove we are the top dog! It also keeps us in shape, lets us bond and play with our owners and we get to travel to competition!

The Wrong Breed?

Hi, my name is Cadillac. I am an American Pit Bull Terrier and live in suburbia. I have my Canine Good Citizen certificate from the AKC. I am purebred and registered with the ADBA. And, I compete in weight pull with both the IWPA and ADBA.

Last pulling season I took 2nd place at the IWPA Championships and 3rd place for the region overall in the 40-60 lb weight class.

Regardless of all my past and future accomplishments though most people don't like me. I love to meet new people, I sit and shake and high five to try and impress them. But, may people just cannot get over the fact that I am a "pit bull."

Many people have in their minds an idea of a devil dog which will rip them to shreds when they hear the words "pit bull."

This is the image perpetuated by groups like PETA, HSUS and the media in general. They portray this image of "pit bulls" and refer to us all as one "breed" when in reality the term "pit bull" encompasses many breeds with different looks, characteristics and inborn qualities. But, regardless of which breed in the "pit bull" category you choose, none of us are born evil, baby killing machines.

I am writing this blog to detail all my accomplishments and educate the public a bit about the HSUS, PETA and other group's stereotyping of my breed and others like it.

JUDGE THE DOG, NOT THE DOG BREED. We all are individuals and this "pit bull" is a good dog all around!
